The Dash To Dubrovnik

What is it?

The Dash to Dubrovnik is the ultimate student roadtrip. 2000 miles. 12 countries. 7 days. And one £500 car.

Convoy and party through Europe's coolest destinations, with a group of mates in a £500 car. A true Top Gear inspired adventure, whilst raising money for great charities across the UK. A trip that looks just as good on your Instagram as it does your CV.

How does it work?

  1. Get a group of your mates together (solo travellers are also welcome)
  2. Sign up on our website individually by selecting your adventure
  3. Start fundraising for your chosen charity
  4. Purchase a car worth less than £500
  5. Leave all the hotel bookings, ferry reservations and route planning to us
  6. Enjoy your ultimate student roadtrip!

What can I expect to be doing?

The Dash To Dubrovnik gives you the flexibility to explore Europe at your own pace. During the days you are able to roam freely, meeting every evening at the pre-planned, high quality accommodation. In these cities, there is a chance to sample the nightlife and meet other teams from your university also completing the trip. Dash to Dubrovnik’s flexibility allows a jam packed route through Europe.

We also encourage the teams to join in with the popular "Dash Convoy", our tried and tested route through the highlights of Europe. This is managed and run by our dedicated Dash Reps who are there for your safety and to ensure you are having the best time. On this varied route you can expect visits to gorgeous cities such as Venice and Bruges. We dive into freezing Alpine lakes, explore winding mountain passes and venture to fairy tale castles in the Alps. There's also a crazy chance to drive a lap of the world's most famous race-track, the Nurbergring too. However, it’s not all go, there are always opportunities to unwind, either round the coast of Italy's Lake Garda or the famous waterfall national parks of Croatia. The Stelvio Pass is, for many, the week highlight, a road that's been regularly voted the best in the world. With 48 hairpin turns, it’s a great chance to capture those priceless Instagram snaps!

There really is a sense of achievement when you and your team reach the finish line: Dubrovnik, Croatia.

What about when I reach Dubrovnik?

Relax, unwind and party! There's heaps to do in Dubrovnik and the surrounding area. Take a tour of the Game of Thrones set in the Old Town, hire Kayaks or sample the great seafood and bars.

We will be just as sad as you when the trip ends! But the fun doesn't stop there! There are 3 options for after your adventure across Europe.

  1. Drive home

We find that during the week teams have formed really strong friendships and often drive back home through Europe together, visiting more cities.

Best of all, you keep your car and are free to sell this on your return to the UK. Often our Dash Reps will be also doing this route and can provide some great tips for alternative routes home.

  2. Sell your car and fly home

Teams also choose to fly home for ease and sell/scrap their cars in Croatia. We have contacts in Dubrovnik that can help you with this.

  3. Dash deeper into Europe…

Keen adventurer? Some of our participants have used the Dash to Dubrovnik as a springboard to the rest of the Balkans and beyond! The adventure ends when you say it does!

How will Amaquella keep me safe?

The Dash to Dubrovnik is an exceptionally safe way to travel through Europe with the freedom to explore. It is not a race and your trained Dash Reps will give daily morning briefs to ensure all participants understand our trip rules and are prepared for the day ahead. This also includes a mandatory breathalyser test each morning for the driver of each vehicle. Cars are insured and MOT'd by the participants and we require all to have travel insurance and breakdown cover prior to departure. More information on this will be provided in our multiple departure briefings.

Our university approved Crisis Management Plan and Risk Assessments can be provided on further enquiry.
